Logan Youhas, MA, LCMHC-A
“Sometimes the view of the flowers along the hill is just as important as the view atop the mountain known as life.”
I believe in celebrating even the smallest of achievements through a person-centered approach to help clients see the best in themselves and show how much they truly accomplish on a day-to-day basis. From balancing anxiety, depression, relationship dynamics/problems, and daily stressors, it is easy to forget how far you have come, how much you do, and how awesome you are. This is central to my work as I aim to help clients acknowledge their strengths and passions, encourage them to believe in themselves and their capabilities, and urge them to always strive towards their dreams.
I specialize in working with those dealing with grief, trauma, anxiety, depression, family dynamics, and personal hardships of life. I also enjoy working with members of the LGBTQ+ community, people navigating ADHD symptoms, and those who want to work on self-compassion and love for themselves.
Education and Experience
I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA) having received my MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Campbell University. I completed a practicum and internship at a local mental health practice in Lillington, NC during my time at Campbell as I worked with children aged 10 years and up alongside adult clients.
My Approach: Compassion and Acceptance
My number one rule in life is based on acceptance: it is easy to accept people as they come and as they are. No matter your background, interests, or who you are as a person, we should be ready with open arms and minds to get to know one another. To quote one of my favorite shows, “No one is born into this world to be alone.”
I draw mainly from a person-centered approach in therapy focusing on the therapeutic relationship with unconditional positive regard and positivity through compassion. While this is my first foot forward, I use techniques from many different backgrounds including acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), as well as strengths-based counseling and relational cultural theory. There is no true perfect path to figuring life out, but we can and will work towards the perfect path for you
About Me
I look forward to working with you in therapy to define your goals and make sure you see the best in yourself! Outside of therapy, I love to go to the movies, catch up on weekly manga, play video games, and spend time with my family and friends.
