
Michelle Cueva, Ph.D.
Clinical Psychological Testing
Dr. Cueva provides a wide range of assessments for adults, adolescents, and older children. At Etheridge Psychology, she specializes in autism evaluations for adults.
In performing assessments, Dr. Cueva is committed to using psychological and neuropsychological testing to help people understand themselves better and find solutions to their persistent problems. Along with identifying mental health issues and recommending treatment, she believes in collaborative work that emphasizes strengths and has a positive impact for clients.
Education and Experience
Dr. Cueva graduated from Vanderbilt University, with graduate degrees in clinical psychology from Fielding Graduate University. She trained in private practice, psychiatric hospital, specialty inpatient psychiatric clinic, and community mental health center settings. She has broad experience in neurocognitive and psychological evaluations for issues including autism, cognitive impairment and dementia, ADHD, dissociation and psychosis, posttraumatic stress disorder, depression, anxiety, and traumatic brain injury. Following her postdoctoral work, she was a clinical assistant professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, in the Department of Psychiatry within the School of Medicine, from which she retired in 2021.
Dr. Cueva is a member of the North Carolina Psychological Association.

To her good fortune, Dr. Cueva is surrounded by her extended family in the Triangle area and enjoys family time, especially watching her young granddaughter develop. She also spends hours musing over the psychology of her standard poodle, Ziggy Stardust.
